My Journey Part 2

Recently I finally purchased the One Week Marketing training center.  I have followed Jennifer Ledbetter aka Pot Pie Girl,a Georgia mom who went from having  $27.50  in her checking account to making a six figure income! Amazing! Sounds too good to be true doesn't? Not with hard work and determination you can do it too.

For a long time I've searched for another way to earn an income and tried various work at home opportunities with minor success.  Lately, I've also become unhappy with my job and working for someone else.  I find myself becoming easily irritable and dreading every day going to work, thank goodness for the wonderful coworkers. Once that started to happen, I realized that I was over it and needed to do something else.  I didn't want to find anothe "job" and repeat the whole process again.  My husband and I were also sick of barely living paycheck to paycheck.  Although it seems like we're actually getting ahead, WHAM! we get hit upside the head by life and we're sent two steps back!  What I wanted to do was work from home, be my own boss, and be there when my family needed me.  But how?

I tried different work at home opportunities such as Avon, I made a little but not enough to quit my job. My first attempt with Avon I had some success but quit because I moved and just didn't have the time to do it anymore.  Fast forward a few years later and I decided to give it another try, but this time had a different outcome as things in the company had changed.   I began to spend more on product samples than actually make money.  I also realized that my heart and mind just wasn't really into it.  I know I didn't promote it as much as I should, but I did knew when it was time to quit.  Although a wonderful company, it just wasn't for me anymore.  I also tried Scentsy and Organo Gold, wonderful companies but I found that I just didn't have the funds to put into them.

Then I tried to think of products I could make on my own and sell to make additional income.  I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to try, then trying to figure out how much I could put into it.  What could be cost effective, a good seller, and be easily cleaned up when needed.  I came across several ideas and continued to flonder for awhile.  I didn't want to create products and have a lot of inventory.  I searched for something where I could earn a living and allow me flexibility. That's when  I then came across the One Week Marketing and Jennifer's inspiring story of how she changed her life. After reading her incredible story a light flipped on and I said this is it! This is what I've been searching for, I needed to try it out and see where it takes me.

Now Pot Pie Girl doesn't make any empty promises and lays it out there like it is.  Her famous qoute “If you’re willing to do for a year what others won’t, you can spend a lifetime doing what others can’t", made so much sense and truly inspired me.  With hard work I can accomplish something that can change the course of my life forever!

In addition to working on my lens for Squidoo, I've been trying to find other ways to make money online.  Following the "don't put all your eggs in one basket" theory.  I understand publishing lens on Squidoo will take time and it's still something I need to see if I can stick with it.  In the meantime, I am hoping to have other ways of making money going as well.  However, I'm trying not to do too many things so I don't get overwhelmed and I can also get a bit distracted by life or whatever.  Life is the biggest distraction but also one that can't be ignored.
