The other day my lil monkey woke up from his nap and just started screaming! At first we thought his teeth might be sore because he has three of them coming in. So I put a bit of Baby Orajel to help ease his pain but to no avail, the screaming continued. This came at the moment just before I needed to leave for work and I didn't want to leave my monkey in tears. So I did what I could, gave him hugs, tried to give him some milk, changed his clothes, tried to ignore it...even took him to the refrigerator to see if he wanted something to eat. But he just wanted to stand in front of the fridge and got mad when I closed the door. He's had tantrums before and this is the second time I've seen him so mad. I also think he may have still been tired too.
So off to the WWW I go to search for answers and I found just what I was looking for. Sometimes toddlers, especially around the age of two, will just scream for no reason. It's just a part of their growing up, and not being able to communicate what they're feeling is very frustrating. I know some of my son's quirks but as I'm quickly realizing it's a continuous learning experience. Staying calm and taking deep breaths will go far in the long run. Sometimes you just need to remember that there are no reasons why your toddler does the things they do and all you can do is be patient, loving and help them through this stage.
